Basic Pistol Course FCT-2

 OVERVIEW

Utilizing the FCT Principle of Crawl, Walk, Run (CWR) principle of handgun training, this course takes students through a handgun's efficient and safe use. Working from the holster, performing reloads, clearing stoppages, and correctly manipulating a trigger to maximize accuracy are thoroughly taught in a relaxed, hands-on environment.

 EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 This course is Step 2 of 3 in our foundational handgun training series. Pistol FCT- 101 is required, or an equivalent course, before you attend Handgun 102. The student must know and be able to demonstrate how to load, fire, and unload a handgun safely. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please read the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

COURSE OUTLINE

• Handgun selection considerations Support equipment. Shooting basics - the importance of proper grip, sight alignment, sight picture, stance, trigger control, and follow-through Introduction of the 6R's framework Presentation of the handgun from the holster to the target and safe recovery back to the holster Administrative and in-service loading and unloading techniques Static shooting positions Cleaning and maintenance

Classes starting at 8:30am and run until 5:00pm.

Classes starting at 1:00 pm will run until 9:30pm.

EQUIPMENT LIST

• Quality functional semi-automatic pistol - Full size and compact pistols only (semi-auto center fire pistols only - revolvers or .22 caliber pistols are not allowed)

• No macro pistols or pocket pistols.

• 3 magazines Magazine pouch Dominant side, hip-mounted holster or dominant side, belt-mounted holster Please wear long pants with pockets and belt loops, a sturdy 1.5" belt, closed-toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), and a crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut neckline) Optional loading devices

 Tuition includes a free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses, and hearing protection if you don't have your equipment.

AMMO

• Estimated round count: 300 Pistol rounds  Lead core ammunition is to be used on steel only No reloads are allowed whatsoever  No green/brown tip, armor piercing, is to be used on steel at any time Ammunition is available for purchase from FCT, or you can bring yours following FCT's ammo policy
