Having served over two decades in the Brazilian Army and State Police, Joshua's experience as a Special Response Unit Operator and involvement in numerous law enforcement operations and personal protection missions has honed his skills in pursuit of perfection. A perpetual student, he continuously seeks knowledge from the best instructors in the world, attending at least five specialized courses annually to stay at the top of his game.

Joshua's expertise is rooted in real-world experiences. He has navigated the complexities of a violent region in Brazil. This hands-on exposure has propelled him to become a globally recommended Reality-based Tactical Firearms Instructor renowned for his practical and effective training methods.

In addition to his law enforcement background, Joshua is a lifelong martial arts practitioner and researcher. His creation of the Sakusen Combatives, validated through force-on-force scenarios based on actual incidents, showcases his innovative self-defense and combat training approach.

Upon relocating to the U.S. in the 1990s, Joshua established the first training academy in Framingham, where he imparted his knowledge through scientifically-backed methodologies such as OODA Loop Combat Applications and Advance Tactical Analysis. His dedication to teaching extends beyond borders as he continues to educate police forces and law-abiding citizens both in the U.S. and abroad.
